Grace F. Heckel, 98 a Sweetwater, TN resident for the past 20 years, and formerly of Toledo, OH, and Temperance, MI, passed away on January 9, 2017. Born January 11, 1918, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Royal C. and Florence M. (Blizzard) Billings. Grace married Leon Heckel, Sr. on March 13, 1937. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1996. She was employed by Toledo Mental Health Care, retiring in 1978.
Survived by her children Coranna (Stephen) Broderick, Jerry (Joyce) Heckel, Ethel Condry, Karen (Larry) Ivey. 15 grand children, 33 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was also preceded in death by her son, Leon A. Heckel Jr., daughter Shirley A. Randolph & (Ray), grandson Jerry D. Heckel.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 16, 2017. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg, OH.
